Abstract

Objective To evaluate the value of 16-slice spiral CT and the post-processing technique in the diagnosis of urologic system diseases. Methods 121 cases with urologic system disease in our hospital went through 16-slice spiral CT scan.Image data of the cases was analysed with the post-processing technique of multiplanar reconstruction(MPR),maximal intensity projection(MIP) and 3D imaging, and the whole urogram, including nerenal calicis, renal pelvis, nephric duct and bladder were acquired. Results There were 8 cases of Duplication of renal pelvis and ureter,4 cases of megaloureter, congenital renal 4 cases of congenital renal malformations,5 cases of polycystic kidney,41 cases of urinary system stones,10 cases of renal and ureter tuberculosis,26 cases of renal cell carcinoma,2 cases of ureteral carcinoma,21 cases of bladder cancer. Conclusion The 16-slice spiral CT scan and the post-processing technique have important clinical value to provide objective reference to the detection, location of the lesions and determine the opration approach.
