A Study on the Level and the Influencing Factors of Serum Visfatin in Patients with Acute Cerebral Infarction

Abstract

Objective: To assess the serum visfatin level and its influencing factors in patients with acute cerebral infarction.Methods: Serum visfatin level was measured through ELISA in patients with acute cerebral infarction and in those from the control group without cerebral infarction.The relationship of serum visfatin with IL-6,HDL-C etc.was analyzed.Results: The serum visfatin level in patients with acute cerebral infarction was higher than that in the control group(P0.001).Serum visfatin level in the patients with acute cerebral infarction was positively associated with IL-6,TG and FPG(r=0.435,P 0.001;r=0.210,P=0.048;r=0.214,P=0.044),and negatively associated with HDL-C(r=-0.425,P0.001).Multiple regression analysis showed that IL-6 and HDL-C were independent association factors in influencing serum visfatin levels.Conclusion: serum visfatin level elevation in patients is closely correlated with IL-6 and HDL-C.
