Abstract

Hair follicle is a kind of important skin appendage, and the epithelium and underlying mesenchymal cells interact to form it. Many of the molecular signals control these events. Hair follicle′s characters have important influence on the quality and output of cashmere. This paper focused on the study of human and mice and illustrates the morphogenesis and molecular modulate of hair follicled. Furthermore, a comparison between hair follicles of human/mice and those of cashmere goats were presented. In addition, we reviewed the studies on molecular modulate of hair follicles of the cashmere goats in recent years, and expected to provide the basis for the study of growth and development of hair follicles of cashmere goats in the future.
