Abstract

Based on the softwares of GIS and Fragstats, the paper analyzed the patterns and heterogeneities of forest landscape in the upstream district of Minjian River in Fujian Province. Combined with the GIS-based forest inventory data and the field survey, three dimensions of forest landscapes patterns indexes, land use type scale, woodland scale and dominant species scale were calculated in this paper. The results showed: 1) in descending order, the patch areas were ranged as follow: woodland,non-forestry land, afforest land,non-standing woodland, shrub land, suitable forest land and open forest land. All patches were with complicated edge densities and boundary shapes but scattered distribution. 2) The ratio of components to needle leaf and bamboo of pure forest land were more larger than that of broad leaf of pure forest land or the mixed forest land. In the species components, the China firs, the Conifer and the bamboo are the prominent species in the study area, their distribution were wide. From the analyses of landscape scale,it showed that the forest community had a complex space structure,a high degree fragmentation and a low level of connection between the same kinds of patches in the research region.
