Abstract

OBJECTIVE To understand the status of pathogen infection of vaginal secretion in local women suffering from vaginitis, and to explore the relation between seasons and pathogen infection of vaginitis. METHODS Vaginal secretions of vaginitis patients in outpatient clinic of gynecology were collected and isolated trichomonad and candida using normal saline, detected Bacterial vaginosis(BV)by using the method of sialidase rapidly. RESULTS ① The trichomonas was found in 196 of 9187 patients(2.1%),candida was isolated in 2 229 of 9 187(24.2%),and BV was in 2 690 of 9 187(29.3%). ②The rates of trichomonas,Candida and BV were separately 4.7%,53.2% and 64.3% in 4 185 positive specimens, respectively. BV with trichomonas or Candida was 22.2%. ③ From January to December, trichomonas,Candida and BV was found separately in 1.1%~3.0%,15.8%~30.8% and 23.1%~43.3%,respectively. The positive rate of trichomonas in different months was no statistical significance, that was different in Candida and BV(χ2 = 75.05,126.03,P﹤0.001 in all). The positive rates of trichomonas,Candida and BV in all year was analyzed using circular distribution, mean angle was separately 168.1°± 74.2°,186.9°±74.2° and 258.2°±78.2°(P﹤0.05 in all),respectively. The high risk time of those was around June 20th,July 9th and September 19th. CONCLUSION The positive rate of candida and BV was higher, peak season of morbidity was from July to September, that prompts the morbidity of Candida vaginitis and BV was probablely concerned with local weather conditions.
