The Influence of Zen Aesthetics on the Modern and Contemporary Art in the United States

Zen aesthetics was spread to the United States in the late 19 th century and the early 20 th century,then directly or indirectly influenced the development of modern and contemporary art in the United States.The influence is mainly reflected in the artists on the expression of aesthetic experience and real life,the thinking to emptiness and nothingness,attention to the universality of human,the exploration to the concept of art and life relationship,etc.These art concepts have influenced the changes of the mode of artistic creation,art materials selection and application,as well as the reflection of artistic value.
