Siweiguaruxiaoketang Decoction For Type 2 Diabetes With Blood-stasis Syndrome:A Clinical Research

Objective To study the clinical efficacy of Siweiguaruxiaoketang decoction for the treatment of type 2 diabetes with blood-stasis syndrome.Methods 108 cases were divided randomly into two groups.60 cases in the treatment group were treated with oral Siweiguaruxiaoketang decoction,and 48 cases in the control group were treated with chemical(western) medicine,for a course of 2 months.The changes of clinical symptoms,and fasting blood glucose(FBG),2 h postprandial glucose(2 hPG),glycosylated hemoglobin(HbAlc),total cholesterol(Tc),triglycerides(TG),high-density lipoprotein(HDL-c),low-density lipoprotein(LDL-c)levels,and haemo-rheology parameters were analysed.The safety of the medicine was evaluated also.Results After treatment,the clinical symptomatic scores were decreased significantly in the treatment group,compared with the control group. The levels of TC,TG,LDL-C obviously descended,and HDL-C ascended in the treatment group.There was very significant differences in TC,TG,LDL-C.Compared with pretreatment,haemo-rheological parameters in the treatment group obviously improved.The levels of whole blood viscosity at low-shear rate(10 sec ),plasma viscosity,fibrinogen were significantly different, There was no significant side-effect in the treatment group.Conclusion The results obtained suggest that Siweiguaruxiaoketang decoction can improve the clinical symptomatic integrals and remarkably enhance total clinical efficacy,and can control the obstinate hyperglycemia,and improve fat metabolism as well as hemo-rheological parameters.It has indicated that Siweiguaruxiaoketang decoction has multipurpose therapeutic actions for diabetes mellitus.
