Application of Evidence-based Nursing in the Teaching of Undergraduates of Nursing Sciences During the Internship in Departments of Surgery

Objective To explore the effect of evidence-based nursing in improving the nursing skills and the ability to conduct scientific research of third-year nursing students. Methods Forty-two third-year nursing students were randomly divided into two groups, with 20 students in group A and 22 in group B. Students in group A were given traditional instruction on the basis of nursing routines. Students in group B received evidence-based nursing education. The students of the two groups were assessed for nursing skills and the quality of papers on the internship at the end of the internship. Results The students in group B showed a significantly better results in terms of general nursing skills and the quality of their research papers as compared with group A(P0. 05). Conclusion The evidence-based nursing mode can help undergrate students of nursing sciences improve practical skills and ability to conduct scientific researches.
