Abstract
Objective To observe the role of aromatase cytochrome P450 in the pathogenesis of endometrial hyperplasia and endometrial cancer. Methods The expression of aromatase cytochrome P450 in normal endometrium, endometrial hyperplasia and endometrial cancer were detected by immunohistochemical analysis. Results The expression of aromatase cytochrome P450 in normal endometrium was negative or weakly expressed, whereas the expression of aromatase cytochrome P450 was higher in endometrial hyperplasia and endometrial cancer. Conclusion The increased expression of aromatase cytochrome P450 in endometrial hyperplasia and endometrial cancer may play an important role in pathogenesis and development of these diseases. It may provide the theoretical basis for the treatment of these diseases with aromatase inhibitor.
