Abstract

Fang Yizhi's frustrated life experience and his changeable mood had big effect on his poetry creation. In his early days,as a son of a high official,he was young and extremely frivolous and he had great dreams of making contributions and establishing his career,so the characteristics of his early poems were bold and inhibited. In his middle-aged life,he experienced the chaos caused by the war and he was wandered and frustrated and his frivolousness disappeared,so his poems at this time mainly reflected the reality and the poetry style was gloomy and unconstrained. When he was old,he became a Buddhist monk. His attitude towards life and learning tended to be mature and his mood was calm and peaceful. So his late poems were natural but philosophic.
