Antihuman IgG_4 monoclonal antibody used in ELISA for diagnosis and cura-tive effect assessment of Schis tosomiasis.

Objective To explore the value of IgG 4 -specific in patient's serum for the assessment of curative effect and diagnosis of Schistosomiasis.Method The IgG-specific and IgG 4 -specific antibodies in sera of patient s with Schistosomiasis,and the cross-reaction with people having Clonorchiasis or Paragonimiasis or healthy people,the changes in IgG-specific and IgG 4 -specific antibodies at different times during treatment were detected by indirect ELISA.Result s Detecting Schistosomiasis patient serum,the sensitivities of IgG 4 and IgG were93.02%and95.35%,and their specificities were100%and97.62%respectively,neither sensitivity nor specificity had significant differ-ence(P0.05).But about the cross-reaction with other parasitic diseases,IgG 4 was signifi-cantly lower than IgG(P0.05).Six months after the patients had been treated,the con-version rate of IgG 4 positive individuals was significantly higher than of IgG(P0.05),twelve months after treatment,there was very significant difference between the two groups (P0.01).Conclusion The value of IgG 4 is similar to that of IgG in dignosis of Schistosomiasis,but since IgG 4 -specific antibody is a short-term antibody,it might be more practically valuable in the assessment of curative effect of Schistosomiasis chemotherapy
