Abstract

Abstract: Ba Jin's works always explore significant issue about how to be human. In Random Thoughts, he goes further to set humanity as centre of his book. With reflection on Cultural Revolution, he calls for human dignity and human rights, and by self--examination, he upholds that, thinking independently and daring to speak out truth have realistic significance in avoiding another Cultural Revolution and maintaining integrity. His ideas of strongly opposing feudalism, ready to sacrifice one's life for realization of one's ideal, and the most artistic work being one without confinement, etc., are scientific summary of his 100--year life experience, which makes great contribution to modern studies of humans.
