A STRATEGIC STUDY OF CONSTRUCTING THE CENTRAL PLAINS ECONOMIC REGION

With the nationalization of regional planning,the refinement of regional management and the diversified developing tendency of regional development patterns,Henan Province has systematically proposed the strategic thinking of Constructing the Central Plains Economic Region in pursuit of national development strategies.Its strategic position is defined as an experimental zone of coordinated development based on national Industralization,Urbanization and Agricultural Modernization;a major base of advanced manufacturing and modern service industry;an important integrated transport hub in China and the center of the Chinese Civilization Inheritage.Its strategic objective is to achieve a significant growth pole of regional economic development in China.Its strategic priority starts with new urbanization,supported by building and improving the characteristic industrial base and ensured by the stable and healthy development of agriculture and food production so as to comprehensively promote the Central Plains development,revitalize Henan Province,compose a new chapter of the Central Plains Rise and explore a new pattern of development and rise in the densely populated inland area.
