Abstract
Objective To detect expression of typeⅡcollage inthe herniated groups and the normal group, dicuss the relationship between typeⅡcollage and lumbar intervertebral disc degeneration and herniation. Methods The expression of typeⅡcollage was tested by immunohistochemistry method, forty specimens of herniated intervertebral disc tissue and twenty normal disc tissue were immunostained with anti human typeⅡcollage polyclonal antibody.Result The positive area percentage of typeⅡcollage in the normal group was significantly higher than in the herniated group,The positive area percentage of typeⅡcollage in the contained group was significantly higher than in the uncontained group. Conclusion lumbar intervertebral disc degeneration and herniation may be caused by the decrease of typeⅡcollage which exist in the extracellular matrix.
