The Expression And Significance Of Matrix Metalloproteinase-9 In Herniated Lumbar Intervertebral Disc

Abstract

Objective To detect expression of matrix metalloproteinase-9 in the herniated groups and the normal group,dicuss effection and significance of matrix metalloproteinase-9 in herniated lumbar intervertebral disc.Methods The expression of MMP-9 was tested by immunohistochemistry method,forty specimens of herniated intervertebral disc tissue and twenty normal disc tissue were immunostained with anti human MMP-9 polyclonal antibody.Result The positive cell rate of matrix metalloproteinase-9 in the herniated group was significantly higher than in the normal group,The positive cell rate of matrix metalloproteinase-9 in the uncontained group was significantly higher than in the contained group.Conclusion MMP-9 was high expression in herniated lumbar intervertebral disc,which showed that MMP-9 was related to intervertebral disc degeneration.
