Induction of Anesthesia with Sevoflurane in the BVR Patients

Abstract

Objective To compare the induction of anesthesia with sevoflurane and propofol in the BVR patients.Methods Seventy ASA Ⅰ to Ⅲ BVR patients aged 22 to 69 years were randomized into 2 groups(n=35 each):sevoflurane group(Group S,6% sevoflurane)and propofol group(Group P).The two groups were induced both with 10 μg /kg fentanyl.BP and HR were measured immediately before and at 1,2,3 minutes after intubation.The time of loss of consciousness(LOC) was recorded.Results SP in both groups and HR in Group S were significantly decreased before intubation as compared with the baseline values before induction of anesthesia(P 0.01).BP were significantly decreased after intubation in Group P when compared with Group S(P0.01).HR was significantly lower after intubation in Group S than in Group P.Conclusion Induction of anesthesia with sevoflurane is safe in the BVR patients.
