Abstract

Objective To accurately identify the rash of measles and other diseases, and timely grasp the situa- tion of measles epidemic. Methods 219 cases of suspected measles undergoing IgM antibody detection were statistically analyzed in Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in 2005-2007,by the use of theChina immu- nization programs monitoring management information systemsand Microsoft Excel software. Results Among serum of the 219 suspected cases of measles,175 were detected as measles IgM antibody positive, and the positive rate was 80.00 %.Among the 44 serum with measles IgM antibody-negative,IgM antibodies were detected for rubella.20 positive cases were found, and the positive rate was 45.45%;there was no statistical significance in positive rate of measles IgM antibody among all age groups;the rate of measles vaccination a- mong patients with rash was only 9.59%;and there were also 66.67% of them unknown the vaccination rate. Conclusion Some cases of rubella were identified in cases of suspected measles.Analysis on serum IgM anti- bodies in cases of suspected measles can help to scientifically differentiate rubella and measles, and provide evidence for timely measles control.
