Abstract

Objective:To evaluate the CT findings of focal nodular hyperplasia(FNH) of the liver, and to raise the diagnostic accuracy of the disease. Methods:CT manifestations of the 10 patients with FNH proved pathologically were analyzed retrospectively.Results:10 cases were single lesion, and showed nodular or lobulated mass. The average diameter was 4.3 cm.On plain CT,the lesions were demonstrated iso-density or slightly hypo-density.On images of arterial phase, all the lesions were enhanced obviously, the density was close to abdominal aorta, except for the central scar. The thickening feeding artery was seen in the lesions.7 cases showed moderate hyperdensity and 3 cases showed isodensity during the portal vein phase.3 cases showed mild hyperdensity and 7 cases showed isodensity during the equilibrium and delay phase.3 of 4 cases of the central scars showed delayed enhancement. Conclusion:FNH has the characteristic performance in tri-phase enhancement spiral CT scanning.
