A Brief Account of Li Zhi and the "Chivalry"

As a thinker and literary theorist,Li Zhi was first a chivalrous man who held passionate belief and high esteem in heroes,a man who advocated that people should follow chivalrous behaviors rather than live a virtuous life.Therefore he was also a man of indomitable spirit and brilliant thoughts.In view of this,maybe it would be more appropriate to consider Li Zhi as a gallant thinker,by which we may probably get his original feature as a nonconformist-a blend of great thoughts and heroic spirits.Li Zhi was an outstanding representative in the history of ancient Chinese thoughts.He was also the first thinker and literary theorist who paid close attention to chivalrous literature.The spirit of chivalry had a deep effect upon him.
