Expression and Significance of AnnexinIin Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma

Objective: AnnexinⅠis a member of the calcium and phospholipid-binding proteins superfamily.The purpose of this study was to investigate the expression of AnnexinⅠin chronic nasopharygitis and nasopharyngeal carcinoma,and the correlation between the expression of AnnexinⅠand the clinical pathological features of nasopharyngeal carcinoma.Method: The expression of Annexin I were detected using immunohistochemical staining(SABC).Result: ①The AnnexinⅠlabeling frequency(29.55%) in nasopharyngeal carcinoma was significantly lower than that(93.33%) in chronic nasopharyngitis group(P 0.01),②AnnexinⅠexpression in nasopharyngeal carcinoma was correlated with histological grade(P 0.01),but not correlated with clinical stage,cranial nerve encroaching and lymph node metastases(P 0.05).Conclusion: The expression of AnnexinⅠis obviously down-regulated in human nasopharyngeal carcinoma and its expression is related with the histological differentiation status of human nasopharyngeal carcinoma,It is suggested that AnnexinⅠmay be involved in the development of human nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
