Abstract
Objective To investigate the dynamic changes of cerebral edema after hematoma aspiration in the rat with intracerebral hemorrhage(ICH).?Methods The rats were randomly divided into saline group,ICH group and treatment group(hematoma aspiration 3 h after ICH).The ICH model was established by injecting 50 μl of autologous blood into the caudate nucleus. At five time points(12 h,24 h,48 h,72 h and 1 w after ICH),the brain edema was estimated by dry-wet weighing method and histopathology.?Results The brain edema reached its peak 24-48 h after ICH,began to subside after 72 h,and vanished on 7 d.The developing brain edema was less marked in the treatment group than in the ICH group at 24 h,48 h and 72 h(P0.05).?Conclusion The brain edema reaches its peak at 48 h;the developing brain edema can be obviously suppressed if the hematoma is removed early after ICH.The present study offers a theoretical rationale of hematoma aspiration for ICH.
