Abstract: WANG Guo-wei as a scholar experienced three shifts in his life: from the study ofKant, Nietzsche and Schopenhauer via the literature of the Song and Yuan dynasties to theclassic Chinese history and his achievements were great. In A New Proof for the ClassicHistory and his other books, he demonstrated the existence of the Zhou and the Xia againstthe negative conclusions made by HU Shi and GU Jie-gang. WANG's study and affirmationof the origins of the Chinese history and culture are helpful to the Chinese in their historicalidentification and national dignity, and laid the important footstone for the Chinese culturalconstruction.
