The Idea of Raising Noble Spirit and Poetics in the Song Dynasty

Scholars of the Song Dynasty paid attention to the cultivation of mind and personality,advocated raising noble and demanded the reaction of spirit on doctrine and reason,its convergence to mind,will and character.In return,a series of poetic propositions arose on the basis of the idea of raising noble as the result of the reform in the sphere of poetics.The comparison of the poetic propositions with those of the Dynasties of Han,Wei,Tang and the Six Dynasties can help to sort out the process of evolution.The idea of raising noble in the Song Dynasty has an immediate influence on the personality criterion of being amiable as well as grand and the poetic proposition of dignity.
