On Zheng Zhen-duo's Critical Discourse of Chivalrous Culture

Abstract

In Zheng Zhen-duo's critical scope,the popularity of chivalrous novels had something to do with our country's future and national destiny.Being grounded on revolutionary stand,he found the connection between the chivalrous thought and the deep-rooted national bad habits,and carried out deep criticism and absolute negation on the chivalrous novels.Under the historic context in the special times,Zheng Zhen-duo's critical discourse of chivalrous culture had the positive practical significance;however,it also had a lot of inevitable limitation.
