Abstract
The ultimate purpose of cultural criticism is not to deconstruct culture,but to construct a new culture which is more adaptable to the social development.In the process of cultural criticism,the construction of cultural ideals is indispensable.In different eras,there are various cultural paradigms and the corresponding modes of cultural ideals.Cultural criticism in the new century should not only be based on the criticism of certain cultural phenomena,but also be concerned about the theoretical profiling,which,accordingly,supports the construction of cultural ideals.There are diverse cultures in different eras,which results in a variety of cultural ideals.Today 's Chinese society needs theoretical weapons for cultural criticism,and,simultaniously,calls the people to have their own cultural ideals.
