CULTURAL RELATIVISM AND CULTURAL COMMUNICATION

This essay concentrates on the problems about cultural communication. It points out that cultural evolutionism has three presuppositions which have been retorted much. The only alternative is cultural relativism, which can be seen as the guide of today's cultural communication. Given this, some commonly accepted beliefs should be adopted as the base of cultural communication. The problem whether cultural communiction results in cultural globalization or in cultural localization is an empirical one, not a theoretical one, which can be resolved only by way of practice.
