Abstract
Objective To expolre the polymorphism of the angiotensin-1 converting enzyme(ACE) gene responsible for acute myocardial infarction. Methods In this study, the patients(n=140)with myocardial infarction and control subjects(n=57) who were matched for established risk factors were consecutively selected.ACE genotypes were characterized by PCR method, and all patients were examined clinical and bio-chemical indexes. Results The ACE-DD genotype was more frequent in the patients with acute myocardial infarction than ID or Ⅱ genotypes (P0 0005),and the D alleles frequency was higher than the I alleles frequency. Conclusion The DD genotype of ACE gene had clear influence on myocardial infarction, and the D alleles substantially increased the incidence of acute myocardial infarction.
