Abstract
As cities grow large in size,become modernized and develop more rapidly in economy during the course of urbanization,the environment in which cultural heritage has survived is now facing an unprecedented threat.It is the responsibility of not only the academic circle but also the government officials to take the issue seriously and work out feasible plans to deal well with the relationship between preservation and development.Taking the preservation of Yishang Street and Xiaoxi Street in Huzhou as an example,we discuss the issue from the connotation of street culture,negative effect of urbanization and preservation in urbanization so as find out the effective ways in the preservation of historical cultural heritages during urbanization.
