STREET PATTERN OF TAIYUAN OLD CITY FROM WORLD HERITAGE PERSPECTIVE

Urban street pattern is an important part of city system and tangible remains of city history. From the world heritage perspective, the protection of traditional street pattern in historic city - especially in ancient capital - that strongly shocked by modern urbanization is one of important tasks in the scope of urban heritage protection and continuance. Taking Taiyuan old city as a case, dealing with the development and evolution of T’s street pattern, and comparatively analyzing the street pattern in the ancient capital between home and abroad, this paper proposes the suggestions concerning the protection of street pattern in ancient capital or historic city,
