Influence of pidotimod on immune function of children with repeated lower respiratory tract infection

Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect and influence pidotimod on immune function of children with repeated lower respiratory tract infection. Methods 80 children with recurrent lower respiratory tract infection were randomly divided into the observation group(40 cases) and the control group(40 cases). The control group was treated with conventional anti- infective,cough and phlegm treatment,and the observation group was given particle of pidotimod in addition. After 6 months' treatment,the clinical effect and the immunity of the two groups were observed and compared. Results 6 months after the treatment,the clinical efficacy of the observation group was 90. 0%(36/40),which was significantly higher than 72. 5%(29/40) of the control group( P 0. 05). The levels of IgA,IgM,IgG and CD+ 4/CD+ 8 were significantly higher in the observation group than in the control group( P 0. 05). Conclusion Pidotimod can significantly improve the clinical effect of children with repeated lower respiratory tract infections. It can reduce the incidence of respiratory tract infection,and increase the resistance of children.
