After 3 weeks of continuous treatment for both groups, the clinical symptoms, adverse reactions and relapse of the two groups were compared. Results:For the short-time effects, the effective rate was 80. 0% in control group and 86. 7% in treatment group; there was no significant difference( P 0. 05). For long-term effects, the effective rate of treatment group was 86. 7%,remarkably higher than that of control group( 36. 7%)( P 0. 05). For the TCM symptom scores, the scores after the treatment of both groups were apparently lower than these before the treatment; there was significant difference between the two groups( P 0. 05). Conclusion: Abdominal massage combined with acupuncture has remarkable therapeutic effects on habitual constipation.
