Abstract

Objective To develop an HPLC method for Ferulic acid, Caffeic acid in Rhizoma Chuanxiong. Methods Kromasil-ODS(250mm×4.6mm, 5μm) column was used to separate the sample at the column temperature of 35 ℃. Methanol was used with a mobile phase of methanol –0.5% aetic acid(35:65, v/v) at a flow rate of 1.0mL/min. The detection wavelengths was set at 323 nm. Results The calibration curve was linear over the concentration of 13.62-257.4μg/mL for ferulic acid(r=0.9995). 29.40-515.7μg/mL for Caffeic acid(r=0.9996). The average recovery of Ferulic acid and Caffeic acid were 96.6%, 95.6%, and the RSD were 0.8%, 0.5%, respectively. Conclusion This method is smiple and reproducible, which can be used for the quality control of Rhizoma Chuanxiong.
