Analysis of the periodontal health condition,oral health knowledge and behavior of 1667 senior high school students

Objective To investigate the periodontal health condition,oral health knowledge and behavior of the senior high school students,so as to analyze the relationship between them.Methods Using the self-designed questionnaire,we surveyed 1667 senior high school students on periodontal health condition,oral health knowledge and behavior.Results Among them,20.6% students had gingival bleeding when brushing,83.7% students brushed teeth twice or more per day,28.8% brushed teeth for three minutes or more every time.82.8% were willing to receive oral health education and only 17.7% schools had oral health classes.Debris index-simplified(DI-S) was 1.25,calculus index-simplified(CI-S) was 0.947 and gingival index(GI) was 1.134.Conclusion School is the important place providing oral health education.Through the education students can obtain right oral health habits and reduce oral diseases.
