Application of perioperative comfort nursing to the patients with lumbar spinal stenosis

Objective To investigate the application effect of perioperative comfort nursing to the patients with lumbar spinal stenosis.Methods 80 patients with lumbar spinal stenosis from Aug.2011 to Jan.2012 were randomly assigned into two groups:comfort group(n=40) and control group(n=40).The comfort nursing model was implemented in the comfort group,while the traditional nursing model was applied in the control group.Postoperative adverse events and patient satisfaction were analyzed.Results No severe complications occurred.The incidence of postoperative wound pain in comfort group and control group were 7.5% and 25.0% respectively.There was significant difference between them.the numbers of patients who had preoperative tension and anxiety were obviously declined while the degree of satisfaction to the whole nursing course was significantly higher than that in the control group(P0.05).Conclusion The application of comfort nursing to the patients with lumbar spinal could effectively alleviate preoperative anxiety fear,decline the occurrence of postoperative adverse events,obviously improve the quality of nursing and the degree of satisfaction to the whole nursing course.
