Abstract
Aiming at the poor storing and peaking ability of natural gas pipelines for power plants equipped with different types of units and mainly fuelled by natural gas, this paper analyzes the balance of natural gas consumption among different types of units as well as the holistic economic efficiency of power plant under different operational modes. It is indicated that peaking operation with various types of units forming an optimized series can improve the economic efficiency of power plants, and units that can operate with multiple fuels can play an important role in the peaking of natural gas pipelines.
