Abstract

In this study, saccharomyces cerevisiae waste biomass cultured in lab was selected as the biological absorbent and copper as the heavy metal to be adsorbed. The biosorption of saccharomyces cerevisiae to Cu2+ in single metal system was studied in the different conditions, such as pH value, the absorbed dose, the absorption time, the absorption temperature and so on.In order to increase absorptive Cu2+ capacity of saccharomyces cerevisiae, some pretreatments of saccharomyces cerevisiae were made and immobilized. The results indicated that the maximum absorptive Cu2+ capacity of saccharomyces cerevisiae with HCHO was pretreated and greatly increased. The biosorption was a rapid process, and the equilibrium was achieved within 2 hours. The pH value can greatly affect the biosorption performance for Cu2+,the maximum biosorption capacity of unit biomass reached pH 6.The temperature in the range of 25~45 ℃ affected the biosorption in a small extent. The density of the biomass affected the biosorption.
