Abstract

Objective To detect the influence of leukocyte in semen quality of infertile men. Methods Human semen was examined for quantity of leukocyte quality using peroxidase stain. Results The increased leukocyte quantity was not found in the semen of 10 normal fertile men; 31 from 48 infertile patients had an increased leukocyte quantity (over 1 X 106/ml) in their semen, and the semen were analyzed. Leukocyte positive group had significant reduction in sperm motility, viability and sperm tail swelling, but significant increase in morphologic abnormality and antisperm antibodies. Conclusion It is suggested that leukocyte occur frequently in infertile man's semen, the change of leukocyte quantity can influence the semen quality.
