Abstract
Objective To explore the clinical value of contrast enhanced ultrasonography in the diagnosis of focal hepatic lesions.Methods 36 patients with 42 cases of focal hepatic lesions not confirmed by common ultrasound were examined by contrast enhanced ultrasonography and compared with pathology.Results 19 among the 42 cases of focal lesions were diagnosed as malignancy and 14 lesions were diagnosed as hepatic benign ones by CEUS.9 cases of intrahepatic space-occupying lesions were excluded by CEUS,including 6 cases of non-uniform fatty infiltration of the liver and 3 cases of regenerated nodules.While 18 lesions were confirmed as malignancy and 15 lesions were diagnosed as hepatic benign lesions by surgery,pathological puncture biopsy and other checks.39 cases were accurately diagnosed.The qualitative diagnosis accuracy of contrast enhanced ultrasonography was 92.9%(39/42).3 cases were misdiagnosed by CEUS,of which one hemangioma was misdiagnosed as intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma and one inflammatory pseudotumor was misdiagnosed as possible malignant,one undifferentiated hepatocellular carcinoma was misdiagnosed as hemangioma,misdiagnosis rate was 7.1%(3/42).Conclusion Contrast enhanced ultrasonography could be used to evaluate the vaseularization of liver tumors effectively and improve the accuracy of ultrasound for focal hepatic lesions.
