Abstract
Objective To investigate the mechanism of tumor cells apoptosis induced by Jiedu Xiaozheng decoction. Methods Hepatoma HepG2 cells cultured in vitro were treated with Jiedu Xiaozheng decoction drug-containing serum for 24 hours, then methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium assay was utilized to determine the proliferation rates and flow cytometry was performed to detect changes of mitochondrial membrane potential. Results The proliferation rate and mitochondrial membrane potential in drug-containing serum groups were lower than that in control group and blank serum group significantly(P0.05).Conclusion Jiedu Xiaozheng decoction can effectively induce HepG2 cells apoptosis, which may be related to the decrease of mitochondrial membrane potential in HepG2 cells.
