The Structural Unemployment Theory and Its Explanation to the Current Unemployment State of China

Abstract
By analyzing the structural unemployment theory and investigating the changes of employment and wage rate of all industries since the middle 80s, this paper concludes that structural unemployment is characteristic of Chinese unemployment phenomenon, and the major problems facing Chinese unemployment, while it is of less importance that the total supply of labor force be bigger than the demand. The policy implication of this conclusion is that the government should take measures as to regulating unemployment structure rather than depend too much on management policy as to the total supply and demand.
