Abstract
According to the generation mechanism of involute gear tooth profile,the mathematical model is built,then the basis technique of using curve tracing to draw involute gear tooth profile is represented,followed with the detailed modeling process.Based on the curve tracing,two methods used for modeling are discussed-using parameter and using plug-in.The characteristics of the three methods are compared.They are very useful for building up the parametric model of involute gear based on Solidworks.
