On Socialist Core Values and the Universal Values

Given that the values like the official standard,the profit standard,the traditional dedication-type and the consumption-type among contemporary youth are prevailing in China,it is not only critical,but also arduous.to construct the socialist core values.Owing to the havoc of Culture Revolution,China had a crisis of faith and confidence.With a high tide of the probe of values,there has been the criticism and reflection of traditional values,and calls for the emergence of new ones.For more than 30 years of reform and opening-up,the research for values,personal values,social values,universal values and the socialist core values goes deeper and deeper,including the details and establishment of socialist core values,and its difference from universal values.The paper believes we should not take the universal values as hypocrisy and deception,nor consider socialist core values as merely an ideology for propaganda;instead,it is essential to integrate the construction of both values.In China,philosophy has been impacted by political and economic situation,thus Marxists philosophy impoverished,traditional philosophy legitimated and Western philosophy marginalized.Therefore it is a great innovation to construct socialist core values to lead the society forward.
