Analysis of Epidemic Situation on Epidemic Cerebeospinal Meningitis in Ningxia hui Autonomic Region During 1958-2005

Objective To provide the evidence of drawing preventive measures and working of the scientific prevention and control of epidemic cerebrospinal meningitis by exploring the epidemic characteristic and tendency of epidemic cerebrospinal meningitis during 1958-2005 in Ningxia.Methods Data were input using EXCEL and analysed using Descriptive Study.Result In Ningxia from 1958 to 2005, the epidemic cerebrospinal meningitis has reported the total of 19711 cases including 1663 deaths.The incidence rate of epidemic cerebrospinal meningitis is between 0.23/105 and 120.82/105,The incidence rate of epidemic cerebrospinal meningitis was 10.57/105 an average of year by year;And The fatality rate of epidemic cerebrospinal meningitis was 8.44%.There were cases reporting in 4 seasons of a year and it was higher in winter and spring as well as the cases occurred were the highest in March.Between February and April cases occupy 68.23% of the total of cases occurred.The cases were mainly in children of 0-4 years and the amount of cases occurred gradually descends by the increasing of ages group and Mainly disperse in children.Conclusion Enhancing the surveillance and the forecast of epidemic situation of epidemic cerebrospinal meningitis,ensuring routine preventive vaccination and emergent preventive vaccination.It is significant to control the occurrences and epidemics of epidemic cerebrospinal meningitis.
