Abstract
Theories of Functional Equivalence Translation,Communicative Translation and Functional Translation reflect the direction of cultural orientation for contemporary practice of translation.Hence a clearer criteria for the practice of Chinese-English or English–Chinese translation.The paper analyzes problems and methods of discourse translation and cultural translation approach with the concrete example of scientific texts.It shows that the translation process is a purposeful choice-making pragmatic process in the cross-cultural context.The teaching method improves the all-round quality of students besides providing an efficient way of scientific translation.
