CHARACTERISTICS,PROBLEMS AND COUNTERMEASURES OF URBANIZATION IN TAIYUAN METROPOLIS

One of the main characteristics of modern urbanization is the formation and development of Metropolitan District.In recent years,the practical researches of Metropolitan District in coastal developed areas are increasing.On the basis of the study of Taiyuan City,the key city of interior resource province,the paper indicates the metropolitan development characteristics in interior land,compared with those in coastal doveloped areas. The study reveals that the Taiyuan metropolis is still in elementary stage and that there are rather gaps in population scale,in level of economic agglomeration and in urbanization.There are four reasons at least for those.The first one is slow transformation and low dispersion of industrial structure of key city.The second one is low capability of urban capital agglomeration and weak outside force.The third one is low general level of hinterland and insufficient power of urbanization.The last one is inefficient applyment of policy affect and of the guide of foundational facilities. At last,the developing thinkings and countermeasures are accordingly put forward.
