Application of labyrinth weir in spillway modification

Abstract

Based on the model test of arc labyrinth weir alternative for modification of the Chongjiu reservoir spillway of Xueka hydropower project,this paper presents some engineering solutions to outflow in case of middle labyrinth weir chamber flooded by large discharge,and summarizes some types of labyrinth weirs and their applicable conditions and hydraulic characteristics.It also tries to give a comprehensive forecast to the development prospect of labyrinth weir technology.
