Abstract
Objective To validate the efficacy of tissue Doppler Echocardiography for evaluating left ventricular diastolic function. Methods Forty patients underwent left heart catheterization were included in this study.Mean of peak early diastolicvelocity(Ea),EF and early mitral valve flow veloeity(E)were measured by echocardiography and the ratio of E to Ea(E/Ea)was calculated.Left yentricular end diastolic pressure was measured during catheterization examination. Results Ea,E/Ea was significantly correlated with LVEDP(r=-0.7,P0.01;r=0.903,P0.01,respectively).The correlation coefficient between E/Ea and LVEDP was significantly higher than that between Ea and LVEDP(Z=1.92,P0.05).Conclusion E/Ea are valuable parameter for evaluating LV diastolic function.
