A review of researches on wild gramineous forage grass germplasm resources in China

Wild forage grass germplasm resources played an important role in forage grass breeding.Most forage grasses were gramineous plants.In China,the research work about wild gramineous germplasm resources mainly focused on collection and primary identification.The basis of forage grass study is weak and the progress is slow.Jiangsu province is a traditional agricultural region,where the planting industry is developed while the grass industry is weak-based.Therefore,it is very crucial to investigate and utilize the wild gramineous germplasm resources in forage grass breeding.
