Abstract
The article introduced the natural cation starch which was modified using 3-chloro-2-hydroxy propyl trimethyl ammonium chloride(CTA) as the etherifying agent,and synthesized a kind of natural macromolecular cation starch coagulant.The effects of reaction conditions including water ratio,the CTA concentration,the ratio of CTA and NaOH,the reaction time and the reaction temperature on the substitution degree and viscosity were discussed.When the reaction conditions were starch 100g;water ratio 25%;the CTA concentration 0.175mol;n(CTA)∶n(NaOH) =0.83;the reaction time,4h;reaction temperature 70℃,the cation starch substitution ratio reached 0.598.
