Abstract
Objective To study the consuming rate of qualified iodized salt in Meilong Town, Minhang District, in order to find the problems and take corresponding measures for intervention. Methods Semi quantitative detection method and the laboratorial quantitative detection method were used to analyze the monitoring results of iodized salt by random sampling in the residents of Meilong during 2004-2012. Results From 2004 to 2012, the monitoring results of iodized salt showed that the non-iodized salt rate, the iodized salt coverage rate, the qualified rate of iodized salt, the consuming rate of qualified iodized salt was 8.30%, 91.70%, 98.49%,90.31%, respectvely. From 2004 to 2009, the non-iodized salt rate had a downward trend year by year. However, there was a rising trend since 2010. Conclusion We should improve the residents' awareness on related knowledge of iodized salt, to ensure that the residents can replenish iodine scientifically and the iodine deficiency disease can be prevented. The propaganda of iodine deficiency disease should bring into the normal management of the community health service.
